Cologne for experts
2012 April – Cologne for experts
Many times I strolled around my home town taking photographs. So I know Cologne pretty well. One day I thought how well do I really know Cologne and how well do the Colonians know their city? So the idea was born to shoot a serial of faint but definite images for Cologne experts. Actually the Colonians have a very close and emotional relationship to their city. In my opinion Colonians are exceptionally proud of their city and they show their pride very openly – in contrast to citizens of other German cities. At every opportunity they leave their flat to spend time in their ‘Veedel’ (hood) or to stroll along the city or the river. So it shouldn’t be hard to recognise these places for a Cologne expert.
All images below were taken with a Canon 5DMK2 and the magnificient Sigma 105mm 2,8.
- Oberlandesgericht, Agnes Quarter
- Eigelsteintorburg
- Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)
- Schokoladenmuseum
